1. Tyler Rose Garden
Tyler is the Rose Capital of America and it earns this nickname thanks to the long history of rose production and cultivation. The Tyler Rose Garden is a sprawling 14‑acre oasis featuring more than 500 varieties and 35,000 rose bushes. This garden is the largest municipal rose garden in the United States. Wander through manicured pathways, across quaint footbridges and snap photos beside fountains and sculptures. Peak blooming periods occur in mid‑May and October, but the garden’s beauty endures year‑round. Entrance is free, making this a must‑see stop. If you are coming to Tyler this is a fantastic place to visit because you can also snap a photo at the Tyler sign!

2. Caldwell Zoo
Home to over 3,000 animals from over 200 species, the Caldwell Zoo offers an unforgettable experience right in Tyler. Make sure you don’t miss the giraffe feeding platform (a $5 add‑on that provides face time with these gentle giants). The zoo’s shaded pathways and diverse habitats make it ideal for families. I personally enjoy seeing the elephants! Caldwell Zoo also has conservation programs and pledges to be: For Animals. Forever.
3. Family Fun at Faulkner Park
For a quick afternoon outing, visit Faulkner Park on Tyler’s west side. Here you’ll find eight miles of walking trails, tennis courts and a splash park for little ones. Pack a picnic and let the kids burn off energy while you enjoy wooded scenery.

4. Relax on Lake Tyler
Just 15 minutes southeast of town, Lake Tyler offers rentals, a fishing pier and more. Spend the day fishing for bass, swimming off the dock or simply soaking in the serenity of East Texas’ piney woods.
