Quick Details
Why ride with us?

We tailor each ride to best meet the needs of our guests.

What to expect?

Since each ride is personalized, upon your arrival our staff will get to know your group, fit you with a helmet, and assign horses accordingly. Riding instructions will be given both before mounting up and during the ride to ensure safety and rider confidence.

Reservations

We exclusively work with reservations made in advance. Booking can be done online or via phone call.

Riding Attire

Helmets are required and provided. Closed-toed shoes or riding boots are mandatory. We strongly recommend long pants and wearing comfortable attire suitable for outdoor physical activity. Please check the forecast for the day of your scheduled ride to ensure your personal comfort.

Duration

Horseback rides are 1hr including time to mount up and dismount. Guests are advised to arrive 15 min early in order to maximize their reservation.

Age limit

All trail riders must be 8 years of age or older. Riders aged 8-16 years old must be accompanied by an adult who is also booked on the same ride. Lead line riding for children under 8 is available; please call to book.

Cost

Rides are $65 per person plus taxes and fees.

Weight Limit

To ensure the safety of our horses and riders, our horses are only asked to carry 20% of their body weight including riding gear. Therefore the trail riding weight limit is 275 pounds (125Kg) for all participants. We offer a chauffeured cart ride experience for individuals over that limit. You can experience the same East Texas trails from the comfort of a cart.

Experienced Guides

Our knowledgeable guides are here for your safety and comfort as well as the protection of the horse. They will lead you through the trails and provide assistance on how to guide your horse. Their accompaniment provides enrichment through sharing interesting insights about our horses, East Texas, or the wildlife.

Horse Care

At SFR, we prioritize the safety and welfare of our horses. Our commitment to equine well-being includes proper nutrition, regular veterinary care, consistent rest, and humane exercise. Our horses are given individual consideration and influence many of our rules in order to maintain their safety and promote longevity.

Horse Selection

Our well-trained horses come in different sizes and different personalities, allowing us to match you with a unique companion.
